In a Drought? Grab a Shovel!

Have you ever experienced a time when you felt like you were in a drought?  You know the day(s).  This went wrong, this broke, this didn’t go as planned etc. etc.  Ultimately it leads to feelings of overwhelmed and you pretty much want to just down and call it a day.

So imagine yourself in a desert desperate for water.  Do you throw in the towel and give up?  Of course not.  You start digging deep looking for water or digging wide praying for the rain clouds to fill your ditch.  If you don’t get water as quick as you want, do you give up?  Of course not!

Because what if you just needed to dig one more foot?  Or what if you those rain clouds were 60 miles away and you just needed to wait one more hour?

The truth lies in the belief you have about the outcome you want to receive.  If you believe it will happen, it  may take some extra effort and course correction.

The next time you feel like you are in a drought have no worries…just grab a shovel and start digging!

Soar Into The Person You Were Born To Be!

Winners Stay In The Game To Soar

There is something absolutely unique about someone that classifies himself as a winner.  Winners have that edge to them…that competitive flair.  It doesn’t have to be an athletic endeavor, but I will use that analogy in this post.

Winners require discipline on a consistent basis.  The discipline comes from the mindset of “I won’t be denied”.  Winners have habits…good habits, daily habits that lead them to the outcome they are seeking.

A few weeks ago, I ran my first half-marathon.  That was one of my biggest accomplishments of my life.  I was among 8,000 winners.  None of the athletes finished half heartedly.  We gave our all.  Yet for me, it all began 3 1/2 months earlier…

It began with a big dose of discipline.  It began with a habitual, regimented daily plan.  If I was going to succeed, it was up to me.  There were days that I certainly did not want to go out in the cold and run, but guess what?  I did it anyway.  There were days of hills and speed workouts…they were not at the top of my “favorites”, but I did it anyway.  Why you might ask?  Because winners stay in the game. Period.

You can not get to where you want to go in life without the discipline of daily habits.  You will not soar to the top in mediocrity.  Every person has that edge inside, but first you must decide that you won’t be denied.  Stay in the game and experience the feeling of accomplishment as you cross the finish line.  You are a winner!  You can SOAR!

I Dare You To Soar!

Accept That You Are Enough

Have you ever had those times, situations, moments where you’ve asked yourself why me?  It is easy to fall into that “pity party” especially when you pour energy and valuable time into the task.

Well guess what…that’s what happened to me and this blog a few for the last eight weeks!  This blog has definitely been a W.I.P for me (work in progress).  However, there have been many times throughout the course of this progression, that I have been overwhelmed and down right FRUSTRATED!!!  Hey, I’m no technological guru by any means and quite frankly, at times, it is a foreign language that I don’t speak!!

Here is the mistake I made.  I tried taking this blog from A-Z without going from A to B, then B to C and C to D.  You get my point.   I created goals that were so big that I became easily frustrated when I ran into even the slightest technical issues and had equipment malfunctions and meltdowns.

So when I took a step back and reflected at what was happening, it became very clear.  I was creating all this chaos myself.  I was so focused on what wasn’t happening and that was all negative.  Never once did I express gratitude for what I had learned and how far I had come.  I was too focused on it not being enough.  By simply shifting my mindset and expressing that gratitude (even in my frustrating moments), everything began to turn around and I was able to solve those “gliches”.  Now look where I am, back to my functioning blog with functioning equipment!!! Ya Baby!

I share this with you because this situation brings me to accepting yourself as enough.  To be completely transparent, it has been a journey to realize that I am enough.  Maybe you can relate to this.  The competitor in me has challenged myself to be at the top in everything I do.  It has taken me a long time to realize that I don’t have to be “The Best”, just do “My Best”.  My Best is absolutely enough. Your best is enough too.

Here’s my quick video…I call it Mindset in a Minute.  It only takes a minute to start shifting your thoughts and beliefs.

I want you to leave this blog today with the affirmation, “I am enough.”  Repeat that periodically throughout your day in the days to come.  Your thoughts become words.  Your words are at the forefront of your mind.  Why not place good thoughts there?  Remember, a it only takes a minute!

Live Inspired,

Keep Climbing

“Doubt makes the mountain which faith can move.” ~Proverb

climb Our life is filled with mountains that we encounter.  Mountains can be in many forms such as new experiences, something unpleasant, people, and a loss just to name a few.

Mountains appear to be to be so GIGANTIC that they become intimidating.  Yet, consider this.  The mountain you are facing can absolutely be climbed.  You must realize that you do not have to sprint up the mountain.  In addition, take some breaks along the way when you need them.

Yes, it can be a struggle and frustrating if you let it be.  Have you considered just accepting the mountain and just let it be?  Accept the fact that there will always be mountains to climb.  At the same time, stay present to the fact that some of those mountains are not even here yet to worry about.  Stop wasting your energy on it and just be…

Keep your perspective in check and don’t give up.  Your climbs are not going to be perfect.  Accept that.  Remember perfection is overrated.  You don’t have to be the BEST climber, just be the BEST YOU CAN BE.  If you did your best that is enough!  Accept that!

Keep the faith in yourself and believe in yourself.  The amount of faith is extremely small.  This comes from the bible:

“Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

You can climb your mountain and move your mountain…keep the faith!!

Find It, Embrace It, Be It, Live It,

P.S.  A little inspiration with the lyrics…”It’s the Climb” by Mylee Cyrus.

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there’s a voice inside my head saying
“You’ll never reach it”

Every step I’m taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose

Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb

The struggles I’m facing
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I’m not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m gonna remember most, yeah

Just gotta keep going
And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

‘Cause there’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose

Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb, yeah!

There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody’s gonna have to lose

Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It’s all about, it’s all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

Letting Go Part 1

lgDo you let things build and build and build only to explode over a glass of spilled milk? It’s just spilled milk, but somehow that situation was the straw that broke the camels back.

There are feelings and situations in our life that do not serve us.  Many times we think this is “just the way it is”.  No!  Absolutely not!!  Do not accept this!

The feelings of guilt, resentment, anger, pain, drama, overwhelmed feelings, etc. are the vampires that will easily drain the life out of you.  You must acknowledge them in order to collapse them and let it go.

Today I have an exercise for you in letting go.  This is part one of a two part video.  Letting go is essential to living your life fully, peacefully, and in a relaxed state.

Get into action right now and complete this exercise.  This will be a necessary to participate in the next exercise.  Remember, this list is only for you.  Dig deep and get those situations and feelings on your card.

It is time to move forward…today is the day!

Be Well,
